    From the Office Staff:

    Per Article XVIII of the IBEW Constitution, your dues are to be paid monthly or quarterly in advance.

    Emily Stanio, the Local's new Office Manager, would like to thank the membership for the outpouring of support and the warm welcome she has received from the Membership. The Staff appreciates her immediate contributions, her abilities, and her ongoing efforts to fill the role she was hired for. 

    The Staff would like to once again thank Dawn Walsh for her decades of service to the Local and it's Membership. We hope she is enjoying her retirement!

    From the Organizing Department:

    The Organizing Department has finalized plans for it's Contracting Class. This class will be held from Sept 13th - Sept 15th. This class is designed to help with becoming or transitioning to being a signatory contractor with the IBEW. If you're interested in the class, please contact Jeremy Redman by sending an email to: Redman@ibew291.org or by calling the Local at 208-343-4861. 

    At the close of March, the Membership count was at 1308

    The Organizing Department and the Representation Staff are all attending the IBEW Construction and Maintenance Conference from April 14th - April 16th.

    The Organizing Dept attended an Organizing Summit regarding the IBEW's " Berg Is Going Union " efforts. 

    Radio Ads are currently producing good contacts for apprentices and people looking to enter the trade. We would appreciate any Members out there who know experienced and licensed electricians to send them to the Hall to start a new chapter in their career. 

    From the Assistant Business Manager:

    Bargaining for J&J Maintenance on Mountain Home Air Force Based wrapped up and the Contract was unanimously ratifed. Bargaining for Intralot wrapped up and was passed by the Membership. 

    Reminder: It's the 14th of April, please remember to resign the books if you are currently awaiting a Call. 

    The Local signed a new Line Contractor that is beginning to work in the jurisdiction, Key Line. 

    Inside Calls are currently going to Book Two beofre being filled. 

    Outside Calls are currently going to Book Two and Book Three before being filled.

    From the Telecommunications Department:

    Organizing efforts at the AT&T Call Center continue. The Local was 23/23 in the last New Hire Orientation and would like to thank Desirae Johnson for her efforts at leading the Orientations and giving back to the Membership. 

    The Local recently filed, and won, an Unfair Labor Practice Charge against AT&T for interferring with the Rights of a Steward and impeding an investigation. 

    The Local has roughly two dozen outstanding investigations/grievances at the AT&T Call Center and would like to thank David Mould, Sharla Root, Garrett Jackson, and Zack Seeds for working with Staff to facilitate those grievances/issues and working towards resolutions for the Membership.

    Political Update:

    The Staff is still monitoring the efforts by the Idaho Legislature to create Legislation that impacts Apprentices and the Electrical Trade. Please Contact your Legislator and tell them you support well educated and qualified Tradesman in the Construction industry. 

    From the Business Manager:

    Wage Allocation Meeting on May 6th, please RVSP to attend to the email sent from the Local. If you are not getting the emails, please contact the office and update your contact information: 208-343-4861

    Construction has pending work, and will need man power in the future. 

    Please pay attention for the reminder emails for Union Meetings being held at the regularly scheduled time at the Riverside Hotel and RSVP if you would like to attend. Boise still has COVID Protocols in place and the Local is adhering to those protocols.
