    Weekly Update!

    From the Professional Office Staff:

    Reminder that the Professional Office Staff for OPEIU Local 11, working as Professionals for IBEW Local 291, offer FREE Notary Service. No appointment is required, stop by and ask for Emily and she will happily handle your Notary needs. 

    Weekly reminder: PLease keep your dues up to date. It takes 24-48 hours to process automatic payments and the Staff would appreciate them submitted in timely fashion to avoid any delays in processing and receiving your Tickets. Dues are to be remitted monthly or quarterly in advance in accordance with our Constitution.

    The Staff would like to extend it's appreciation to Cary Sims and Patrick Brown this week. These Brothers had some business to handle with the help of the Professional Staff and they were patient, considerate, and respectful in their conversations, and treated our staff like the Union Sisters they are. Thanks Brother Sims and thanks Brother Brown!

    From the Assistant Business Manager:

    From the Organizer:

    Comet Class Reminder: May 18th, 5:00pm via Zoom. Please be on-time. 

    Construction organized 2 new Brothers since last week. A construction wireman, and an apprentice wireman. 

    The Organizer has meet with industry workers who are not currently represented by the IBEW in an effort to organize their workplace. Stand strong Sisters and Brothers!

    From the Telecommunciations Representative:

    AT&T is currently replacing all of the WAH hardware. This includes new towers and headsets, and the company is also sending home a Webcam. The Local Union and the Company have ongoing discussions regarding the WebCam, and as a result you should be given instructions that include to NOT USE the WebCam until further notice. 

    The Telecom Unit appreciates David Mould and his team of Stewards for last week's asistance. Bill Turner, Kevin Corpman, Sarah Smith, Paige Bailey, and Serenity Bornstine. As always, these Brothers and Sisters diligence and effort helps enforce the Contract and provide representation at our Call Center. 

    The Local was notified that the notices for the Unfair Labor Practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board were sent out by Management. Remember our Golden Rule for investigations: Two of them = Two of us

    United Way Volunteers needed! The Local would appreciate your help on continuing this great Partnership with an organization that does great work in our community

    St Lukes Kids for a Night! This will be June 4th, 2021. It is still being determined if this will be a vritual or in-person event. Please send any interest to attend on behalf of the Local to: IBEW291@IBEW291.Org
